Christine A. Burych has been a leader in the field of volunteer management within the mental health sector for over fifteen years. As the director of volunteer resources at Canada’s largest teaching and research hospital for mental health and addictions, she was instrumental in developing best practices in volunteer management that have been recognized nationally. Christine completed her master’s degree in human resource management and has been involved in the development of both volunteer resources and human resources balanced scorecards, strategic planning, and strategic volunteer resources management. She led strategic planning for the Professional Association of
Volunteer Leaders - Ontario (PAVRO) during her term on their board of directors. Currently she manages her own leadership consulting company, StarlingBrook, which specializes in mental health strategies for the workplace. Utilizing her clinical, volunteer management, and leadership development skills, she helps leaders create compassionate, courageous, and engaged workplaces.
