Organizations providing support and services to volunteer-involving agencies and to individuals looking for volunteer opportunities. Some are national, but most are local. Many are called a variation of "volunteer center," These are nonprofit or public agencies, not membership associations for volunteer resources managers.

Corporation for National and Community Service

Includes AmeriCorps, Learn & Serve America, VISTA and other programs All Older American programs formerly under ACTION, such as RSVP, Foster Grandparents, and Senior Companion programs.

Points of Light

Points of Light is the parent body of HandsOn Network and coordinates a variety of special programs designed to boost American volunteerism. Thery are responsioble for National Volunteer Week celebrations each April and run something called the Civic Incubator to give a home to new projects.
