Serves all New York state -- New York State Association of Directors of Volunteer Services
Membership in the state association originates at the chapter level. There are seven chapters covering specific geographic areas of New York state. Membership is open to those who manage or direct volunteers in health and healh-related orgaizations and facilities. The state association sponsors a conference each year.

Serves New York City Area - New York Association for Volunteer
Administration(NY AVA)
The New York Association for Volunteer Administration (NY AVA)
is an affiliate of the Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA),
an international membership organization committed to promoting professionalism
and strengthening leadership in volunteer management. NY AVA provides
its members with a full network of educational resources including
a variety of year-round workshops and meetings where professionals
who work with volunteers can meet and share experiences. We offer
our members such benefits as biannual membership meetings, mentoring
for CVA certification, an extensive Job Bank, NY AVA Newsletter and
apprenticeship placement.

Serves greater Glens Falls region - Directors of Volunteers in
Agencies - DOVIA
Members meet bi-monthly at 9:00 AM on the first Wednesday of the month, Oct.-June. A program relevant to volunteer management is offered at each meeting, presented usually by an outside speaker. The program is followed by a business meeting. Every year our group recognizes thousands of area volunteers in honor of National Volunteer Week by publishing a six+ page insert in the local newspaper, displaying the names of volunteers from numerous agencies.
