Sarah Jane Rehnborg's Biographical Summary

Sarah Jane Rehnborg, Ph.D., is currently Director of the Center for Volunteerism and Community Engagement at the University of Texas in Austin. She has a long history of service in the volunteer management field, including being a past national president of the Association for Volunteer Administration (1979-81). Starting her involvement as a practitioner, Sarah Jane developed and ran volunteer services programs at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic and the John J. Kane Hospital, both in Pittsburgh. In the late 1970’s she created and managed the Institute for Volunteerism at the Community College of Allegheny County, PA. For the last two decades she has been a consultant to a variety of organizations, ranging from the Texas Commission for National and Community Service to the Points of Light Foundation. Sarah Jane is the author of The Starter Kit for Mobilizing Ministry and the VYTAL Service-Learning Curriculum Manual.
