Rob Jackson has been a Volunteer Programme Manager since July 1994. He has run a university student-tutoring programme, served as a regional Volunteer Programme Manager for a major UK children's charity, and now as the Volunteering Development Manager in the fundraising department of the Royal National Institute of the Blind, the UK's largest charity for people with a visual impairment.
Rob is very active within the UK volunteering sector: He holds the post of vice-chairman of the Employees in the Community Network, is a member of the editorial board for Voluntary Action, the journal of the Institute for Volunteering Research, serves on the Policy Advisory Group for the National Centre for Volunteering. Rob is also pioneering the use of the Internet as a means of networking amongst his colleagues through UKVPMs (http://www.egroups.com/group/UKVPMs), the first e-mail networking resource for UK-based volunteer programme managers.
He recently formed R. Jackson Associates, as a consulting and training firm, and has been a frequent contributor to e-Volunteerism..
In his spare time (!) Rob serves in a variety of roles in his local church and spends time with his wife and young son.
